Daal Pithi

Ingredients

For Daal Preparation:
1cup channa daal
1/2 moong daal
1/2 spoon red chilli powder(kashmiri)
1/2 spoon coriander (dhania) powder
1/2 spoon garam masala
1/2 spoon ginger & garlic paste
salt for taste
2 floz water

For Pithi preparation:
1cup flour 1/2 cumin powder 1/2 spoon red chilli powder(kashmiri) 1/2 cheese(desire) black salt & pepper for taste

Fry
2 spoons ghee 1/2 spoon cumin seeds (jira) 2 big tomatoes & onion 2 green chilli chopped ginger & garlic(accordingly) some cilantro leaves( dhania leaves)

Method

  1. First, put gram daal(channa) & moong daal along with red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger & garlic paste and little bit salt(taste) and water into pressure cooker to prepare a DAAL mixture.
  2. Keep this on medium flame gas to cook (for 15 minute).
  3. Now mix cumin powder, red chilli, black salt, black pepper and cheeses (if want) into flour and make a mixture like chapattis atta.
  4. After that, make small & thin cylindrical pieces of flour by rubbing with your palm and sparkle with flour powder to avoid stickiness.
  5. Open pressure cooker after 2 whistle and put prepared pithi into that and again keep on gas to cook fully(15 minute).
  6. When the preparation cooked well, then keep it aside and put non-stick on gas to fry it.
  7. Pour 2 spoon ghee and cumin seed, when cumin seed became black add chopped ginger, garlic and onion.
  8. When onion become golden brown, then add tomatoes and stir it for few minute.
  9. After that add cilantro leaves and off the gas flame.
  10. Now mix this fried preparation into daal pithi mixture and stir smoothly.
  11. Serve on big ball and sparkle with chopped red chilli and cilantro leaves and ghee.
  12. You can also serve this with salad and yogurt.
