Hi, I am Savita. Here is one recipe that goes very well with Ven Pongal (Khichdi),
Rice and Rotis. It is very easy to make and is delicious.

Brinjal Gotshu
Ingredients
1 medium brinjal (cut in small pieces)
2 tomatoes
Oil
Salt to Taste
Turmeric -1/2 tsp
Sambhar powder - 1 tsp
Ginger - a small piece
Moong dal - 1/2 cup cooked
Tamarind paste (mix it with 1 and 1/2 cups of water)
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Bengal gram dal.- 1 tsp
Few sprigs of curry leaves
Method
- Cut the brinjal and tomatoes to fine pieces.
- In a pan, put some oil ( 2 tsp) and add mustard seeds to it.
- When the seeds splutter add bengal gram dal to it.
- When the dal turns golden brown add the curry leaves.
- Now add the tomatoes and brinjal pieces and fry it for about a minute.
- Then add the tamarind water to this.
- Add turmeric, ginger, salt and sambhar powder and allow it to boil for a few minutes.
- When the brinjal and tomatoes are cooked, add the cooked dal to this and delicious gothsu is ready in a few minutes.
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins.
