Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

Tomato - 1 kg
Salt - 200gms
Mirchi powder - 200gms
Tamarind - 250gms
Asafotadia
Fenugreek seeds - 1 tsp
Rai - 1 tsp
Oil - 200gms

Method

  1. First cut the tomatoes into small pieces and put in a vessel.
  2. Add tamarind to it and keep aside for 1 hour. After 1 hour tamarind becomes soft.
  3. Then grind tamarind and tomatoes together and then add salt and mirchi powder to it.
  4. Then fry the fenugreek seeds till nice aroma come and then powder it and add to the mixture.
  5. Then put frying pan on the stove and pour oil and rai(mustard seeds) and also asafatedia
  6. Then heat it till the mustard seeds splutter.
  7. Then switch off the stove and allow the oil to cool for some time .
  8. Then pour the oil in the chutney and mix well and tale it in a bottle.
  9. It will last for any no of years provided wet spoon is not used to remove the chutney
  10. It will be nice to eat with chapati as well as rice.
