Sambhar in Ease

Ingredients

All quantities are approx

Tur dal - 1 cup
Tomatoes - 2 nos.
lady’s finger - 1/2 kg
onion - 1 no
garlic - 2-3 glovesv red chillies - 4-5 ( or as per your taste)
red gram dhal , urad dal and methi seeds- little
dhania powder - 1/4 t.spoon
sambhar powder - 1 spoon
potatoes - 3-4
drum stick - 2 nos.
turmeric powder - a pinch
mustard seeds for seasoning
asafoetida - a pinch
coriander leaves and curry leaves
Oil and salt
scrap coconut - 1 cup

Method

  1. Boil tur dal along with tomatoes, drumstick and potatoes in pressure             cooker…after 2-3 whistles switch off the gas..
  2. Meanwhile in tawa, add little oil fry items 4,5,6,7, and 17 till red keep it aside.
  3. In same tawa fry lady’s finger till tender with adding little more oil and keep             aside..
  4. Remove dal + the veggies from cooker….with spoon remove drumstick and             potatoes from cooker.
  5. Remaining dal + tomatoes grind it along with fried mixture             in a blender.
  6. Take a round vessel, pour grinded mixture into it, add the boiled veggies, along             with turmeric powder, dhania powder ,sambhar powder and salt.
  7. Boil it for 5 mins lastly season it with mustard seeds, asafetida, curry leaves and             coriander leaves.  
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice……enjoy cooking and feed back to me…thanks…
