Spicy Moong Dhal

Ingredients

1/2 cup Moong Dhal (wash it and pressure cook it by putting 1/2 cup milk and  half cup water.Keep it for 2 whistles in the cooker)
1 bunch of coriander leaves(cut it into small pieces)
1 onion(cut it into small pieces)
2 tomatoes(cut it into pieces)
1 flake ginger(cut it into very small pieces)
4 green chillies(cut into small pieces)
1 tbsp jeera
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp channa masala powder
3 tbsps ghee
Salt to taste

Method

  1. Take a pan,put ghee and heat it for a min
  2. Add jeera and fry for a min in medium flame
  3. Add ginger and green chillies and fry for 2 mins
  4. Add onions and fry till brown
  5. Add tomatoes and fry for 10 mins till the tomatoes get cooked well.
  6. Add salt,garam masala powder and channa masala powder and coriander leaves and mix it well and fry for a min.
  7. Keep aside.
  8. Add this fried gravy into the cooked dhall and mix it well.
  9. Pressure cook it again for 1 whistle.
  10. Your dhal is ready.
  11. Serve with plain rice.It's very tasty.You can make tomato raitha as side dish for this dhal rice.
  12. Note:You can also have it with hot chappathis.It'll taste good.

Making time: 30 mins (excluding pressure cooking time).
Serves: 2 - 3 servings.
