Hi All, I'm Divya from USA.I'm a regular visitor of this site. Its my pleasure to contribute a recipe to this site. This recipe is a famous sweet in Kerala(the place where I belong to) and known by the name "Naan Kattai".It is very easy and simple to make. Email: varma_divya@hotmail.com

Naan Kattai

Ingredients

Maida - 2 cups
Sugar - 1 cup
Cardamom - 3-4
Dalda or any vegetable oil - as required

Method

  1. Powder sugar and cardamom well and add maida to it
  2. To this powdered mixture add dalda and mix it well to make a dough like chapathi
  3. Make the dough into small balls and bake it in the oven at about 250 degrees celcius till light brown colour.

Note: Do  not melt the dalda before mixing it with the maida/sugar mixture. It should be taken as it is.If melted would reduce the softness of the Naankatta
