Hi,
I'm Lilly Kumar. I grew up Bangalore and love Ragi Mudhe. My parents are from Mangalore but everyone in my family loved Ragi Mudhe. I have been in the U.S. (St. Paul, Minnesota) for 27 years and always longed for this yummy dish. So, I have come up with my own recipe for Ragi Mudhe, different and easier than the traditional way of cooking. Try it and you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Ragi Mudhe

Ingredients

One cup Ragi flour or Rai flour (available in all grocery stores in the U.S.)
Salt to taste
1 to 2 teaspoons any oil
Water

Method:

  1. Make a batter (about idli consistency).
  2. Mix it well to remove all lumps, cover and cook it in the Microwave at High for 15 to 18 minutes.
  3. Remove and shape into balls with the aid of cold water.

Enjoy!
