Shrimp Masala (Kolambiche Suke)

Ingredients

Shrimp (cleaned) 1 lb
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Chili powder 1 tsp
Onions 2 med size (chopped)
Tomato 1 (chopped)
Ginger 1/2 inch (finely chopped)
Garlic 2 cloves (finely chopped)
Green chilies 2 (finely chopped)
Fresh coconut 1/2 cup (grated)
Coriander
Kokam 3-4 pieces
Salt to taste

Method :

  1. Clean the shrimp and apply salt, a pinch of turmeric and chili powder.
  2. Take 4 tbsp oil in a pan. When hot, add the onions, ginger, garlic and green chilies - saute the mix.
  3. Add tomatoes and saute well.
  4. Add the shrimp and fry till the shrimp is cooked.
  5. Grind coconut with a little water and add to shrimp. Cook with lid closed.
  6. When curry is well- cooked, add kokam and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with plain rice or chapatis.
