Chocolate and Walnut Cake
Ingredients
1 cup All purpose flour
1/4 cup Cocoa powder
1 cup Castor sugar
1/4 cup Butter
3/4 cup Milk
1 nos Egg
1 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts
Method:
- Sieve Flour, baking powder, soda and cocoa together. Mix in the Walnuts. Keep aside.
- Beat the butter with sugar till light add in the eggs and vanilla and beat for 2 mins.
- Add in the flour, Walnuts and cocoa mixture slowly alternating with milk and mix very lightly but firmly.
- Pour into a greased 8 inch dish and bake at normal temp for 35 mins or till done.
Alternatively for those of you who love the peanut flavour you could:
Instead of 1/4 cup butter you could add 2 tbsp butter and 3 tbsp
peanut butter and follow the rest of the recipe in the same way!
