I am Sunitha. I live in LA with my husband, Balaji. Thanks for setting up such a wonderful site which is a vast resource of good Indian recipes. Keep up the good work!! I learnt this dish from my mother whose dishes we relish. I hope everyone likes this TamilNadu dish.

Black Pepper Rasam (Melagu Rasam)

Ingredients

Black Pepper 10 nos
Jeera 1 teaspoon
Red Chillies 3 nos
Garlic 10 pieces
Coconut Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt
Curry leaves for Seasoning
Mustard seeds little
Tamarind 1 Teaspoon
Jaggery 1 Teaspoon

Method :

  1. Grind Black pepper, Jeera, Red chillies, Coconut, & 2-3 pieces of Garlic and make into fine paste.
  2. Fry remaining Garlic & add the Paste you prepared
  3. Add Tamarind, Jaggery & Water to the fried Masala
  4. Boil the content for about 15 min
  5. Finally garnish with coriander leaves.

Note: This must be served hot with rice.
