Ingredients3 cups wheat flour
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2-3 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 cup curd
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep fryingMethod
- Tie wheat flour in a big muslin cloth.
- Place in a strainer type vessel
- Put it in steamer with water inside
- Steam for 14 minutes
- Remove and sieve again
- Add all the ingredients except oil
- Make medium soft dough
- Use a chakli presser and press out circles.
- Use 4" plantain leaf squares or a small plate to press onto.
- Carefully invert chakli into hot oil
- Deep fry on low medium flame till golden
- Drain and cool. Store in a tight-lidded container
Making time: 1 hour.
Makes: 30-35 chaklis
Shelflife: 2-3 weeks.
