Ganesh Festive Dishes
Chakli
Ingredients

3 cups wheat flour
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2-3 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 cup curd
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Tie wheat flour in a big muslin cloth.
  2. Place in a strainer type vessel
  3. Put it in steamer with water inside
  4. Steam for 14 minutes
  5. Remove and sieve again
  6. Add all the ingredients except oil
  7. Make medium soft dough
  8. Use a chakli presser and press out circles.
  9. Use 4" plantain leaf squares or a small plate to press onto.
  10. Carefully invert chakli into hot oil
  11. Deep fry on low medium flame till golden
  12. Drain and cool. Store in a tight-lidded container

Making time: 1 hour.
Makes: 30-35 chaklis
Shelflife: 2-3 weeks.
