Ingredients:
3 cups water
30-40 gms. root ginger, washed
sugar to tasteMethod:
- Crush or bruise ginger with a mallet.
- Place in a deep vessel, add water, put to boil.
- Simmer for at least 7-8 minutes, till reduced to three-fourths.
- Add sugar to individual cups, strain boiling tea into cups.
- Stir and serve piping hot.
Variation:
Iced ginger tea: One may even serve it chilled with a slice of lime floating inside.Making time: 10 minutes
Makes: 2-3 servings
Shelflife: Best fresh hot, Chilled 1 day, frozen concentrate 2-3 weeks.
