Sample Menu - 3
This menu is for evening or the lighter meal.
(Some combinations for dinners wherein I suggest one main filling dish, and
you may add side dishes and sweet dishes of your choice).
Combination 1:
For those who are ailing or have to cut on calories and sugar)
- A hot filling soup (mulligatawny or moong soup)
- 1 raagi muddhe (refer karnataka dishes)
- 1 cup vegetables in watery gravy (thinner version of saagu from rava idli
- south indian dishes)
- 1 cup pareb (tiny tot treats)
Combination 2:
(Keeping in mind normal health conditions)
Choice 2a:
- Ragda patties (approx. 4 patties with 1 bowl of ragda)
- 1 bowl sweet corn soup
- 1 cup masala khichidi
Choice 2b:
- Chole Bhature (or naan if you prefer, approx. 3 bhature and 2 cups chole)
- 1 cup vegetable pulao
- 1 bowl Onion-potato soup
Choice 2c:
- Grilled open buns or Sweet stuffy chewy pavs
- 1 bowl mexican rice
- 1 cup american chop suey
- 1 bowl creamy celery soup
Choice 2d:
- 3 steamed rice idli
- 3 medhu vadas
- 2 cups sambar
- coconut chutney
- 1 see through salad
Choice 2e:
- 1 bowl Browned onion soup
- 1 cup chinese fried rice
- 1 cup gobi manchurian (or variation)
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1 plate crunchy fritters
Choice 2f:
- 3 moongdis or methi theplas
- 1 cup masala bhath
- 1 cup pathal bhaji
- 1 cup pachadi
Choice 2g:
- 2-3 Warmed dinner rolls
- flavoured butter of your choice
- 1 Baked casserole of your choice or a veg hotpot (bachelor dishes)
- 1 cup tomato or plain steamed rice
Choice 2h:
- 1 jaadi roti
- 2 cups toor dal
- 1 cup cucmber tomato tossed salad or plain onion rings
- 1 cup ghatta rice
Choice 2i:
- 4 pavs warmed with butter
- 2 cups pavbhaji (bhaji part)
- 1 cup Spinach cheese rice
- 1 glass rose lassi or falooda
Choice 2j:
- 1 cup steamed rice
- 1 cup spicy tomato rasam
- 1/2 cup Capsicum karwar style
- 1 cup stuffed brinjals or baingan bhartha
- 2 makki di roti or rice roti
