Christmas Dishes

Ingredients

Pearlspot or Pomfret - 1 kg
Grated Coconut - 1
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder a pinch
Sliced Onions - 3
Chopped Ginger -2" piece
Sliced Tomatoes - 4
Split Green Chillies - 6
Ghee - 3 tbs
Salt to taste
Vinegar -1 tbs

Method:

  1. Grind the coconut with the cumin seeds and turmeric and extract milk twice.
  2. Use 1 cup of hot water for the first extraction and 1-1/2 cups of water for the seconds extraction.
  3. Keep the two milks separate.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan.
  5. Add the onions, ginger and green chillies.
  6. Saute well and fry for 5 minutes.
  7. Add tomatoes and saute for a while.
  8. Add the second extraction of coconut milk.
  9. Let it boil for 5 minutes.
  10. Put salt and fish.
  11. Cook till done.
  12. Add the first extraction of the coconut milk.
  13. Boil for 2 minutes on low heat.
  14. Finely add the vinegar and mix well.
  15. Remove from fire.
  16. Serve hot with rotis
