Easter Delicacies
Cinnamon Rolls

INGREDIENTS For Dough:

2 eggs, well-beaten
4 cups plain flour
1 packet dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup warm water

  For Filling:

3 tbsp melted butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon powder
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

  For Icing:
3/4 cup powdered sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla essence 3 tbsp cream cheese 1 tbsp milk

  Method:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and keep it for 10 minutes
  2. Sift the flour, and salt together; keep aside
  3. Heat the milk; just before it comes to boil add salt, sugar and butter
  4. Stir it well and let it cool till it is lukewarm
  5. Add the yeast mixture in milk and keep it for another 5 minutes
  6. Add beaten egg in the milk
  7. Add flour mixture slowly to the milk; stirring to form a smooth dough
  8. Cover and keep in warm place for 2 hours; the dough should double
  9. Punch down, let rise again until nearly double, about 45 minutes.
  10. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon powder
  11. Roll the dough out into rectangle about 1/2 inch thick
  12. Brush the dough with melted butter
  13. Sprinkle the sugar mixture over it
  14. Top with chopped walnuts
  15. Roll dough from top edge to bottom edge (from a long)
  16. Pinch the ends to seal
  17. Cut the roll into 10 to 12 slices
  18. Place 6 at a time on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  19. Bake for about 20 minutes or until light brown.
  20. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients of icing
  21. Beat with electric mixture till fluffy
  22. Drizzle the icing over the top of each roll
