2 cups plain flour
2 egg yolks
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup butter, softened it
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup cold water (more if required)
1 tbsp sugarFor Filling:
2 cups khoya (or can use drained ricotta cheese)
1 tbsp vanilla essence
1 cup cream cheese
3/4 cup crumbled paneer
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp lemon juiceMethod:
- Mix all the ingredients and make dough (it should not stick to hand)
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for 3 hours
- Beat egg, sugar and lemon juice in a bowl
- Add remaining ingredients of filling and beat it well till smooth
- Remove dough from freeze, place on a well dusted (with flour) work surface
- Roll the dough into approx 12-inch circle
- Line a 9-inch pan with the dough and trim the excess
- The excess dough can be cut into 4" long strips
- Refrigerate the pan and strips for 1/2 hour
- Preheat oven at 325 oF
- Remove the pan from freezer
- Put the prepared filling into crust
- Arrange the strips on top to form pie chart
- Brush the top strips with butter
- Bake it for almost an hour till golden brown
- Let it cool and then serve
