Hilsa Fish Baked in Mustard Sauce

Hilsa Fish, cut it into round slices
25 gms of Mustard paste ( Mustard grinded with 1 tbsp of Curd and 6-7 Green Hot Chillies).
Banana leaves cut into rectangular shape not small size but medium size to cover each fish piece.
1Tablespoon of Salt.
2Tablespoon of Mustard Oil.
1 Thread box to tie the Banana leaves.

  Methods of Cooking:

  1. Wash the fish and pat it dry.
  2. Rub it into salt and turmeric powder (1tsp).
  3. Keep it for sometime at least 1/2hr covering the fish pieces.
  4. Now marinate it with mustard paste adding 2 tbsp of mustard oil in it.
  5. Keep it aside again for 1 hr.
  6. Take one rectangular piece of banana leaf and see that it can cover  one marinated fish piece. 
  7. Tie each of the piece with thread and keep doing the same way with other marinated fish pieces.
  8. Now preheat the oven for 150 Degree centigrade for 10 minutes.
  9. Take a baking tray and grease it with 1 tsp mustard oil and keep the tied fish pieces evenly on the tray and bake it for 35 to 40 Minutes.
  10. Take the thread out of banana leaves and serve the fish pieces which is already marinated and cooked properly .
  11. It can be served hot as side dish and can be enjoyed with rice.
