Mushroom Dishes
Mushroom Casserole

Ingredients

3 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
4 tbsp butter
1 cups cooked chicken pieces (approx 1/4")
1/4 cup boiled corn
1/4 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp plain four
1-1/2 cups milk
Salt as per taste
1/2 tsp pepper powder
3/4 cup grated cheese
1 cup bread croutons

Method:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp butter
  2. Add mushroom, chicken pieces, garlic
  3. Saute till mushrooms are well done
  4. Add corn and saute for another 2-3 mins.
  5. Remove from fire
  6. In another pan, heat remaining butter
  7. Add flour and stir continuously
  8. After 2-3 min, add milk and stir, taking care no lumps are formed
  9. Add salt and pepper powder
  10. Cook till the thickness of white sauce is formed
  11. Add 2 tbsp of sauce in mushroom mixture
  12. Mix it well
  13. In a grease casserole, make a bed of bread croutons
  14. Spread 1/2 of mushroom mixture
  15. Then make layer of 1/2 of white sauce
  16. Spread remaining mushroom mixture and over it the white sauce
  17. Sprinkle the grated cheese and finally the oregano
  18. Bake at 350 o for 35-40 min, till cheese melts and is golden colour
  19. Serve with tasted bread
