3 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
4 tbsp butter
1 cups cooked chicken pieces (approx 1/4")
1/4 cup boiled corn
1/4 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp plain four
1-1/2 cups milk
Salt as per taste
1/2 tsp pepper powder
3/4 cup grated cheese
1 cup bread croutonsMethod:
- Heat 2 tbsp butter
- Add mushroom, chicken pieces, garlic
- Saute till mushrooms are well done
- Add corn and saute for another 2-3 mins.
- Remove from fire
- In another pan, heat remaining butter
- Add flour and stir continuously
- After 2-3 min, add milk and stir, taking care no lumps are formed
- Add salt and pepper powder
- Cook till the thickness of white sauce is formed
- Add 2 tbsp of sauce in mushroom mixture
- Mix it well
- In a grease casserole, make a bed of bread croutons
- Spread 1/2 of mushroom mixture
- Then make layer of 1/2 of white sauce
- Spread remaining mushroom mixture and over it the white sauce
- Sprinkle the grated cheese and finally the oregano
- Bake at 350 o for 35-40 min, till cheese melts and is golden colour
- Serve with tasted bread
