Parsi Dishes
Colmi-No-Patio

Ingredients

  1/2 kg prawns, shelled and cleaned
3 onions, chopped finely
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp tamarind pulp
1 tbsp jaggery
1 tsp garlic paste
3 tbsp oil
Salt as per taste
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Roast and Make powder of:
2 cloves
4 peppercorns
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp cumin seeds
4 dried red chilli
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Add sliced onion
  3. Fry till brown
  4. Add powder and saute for 2-3 minutes
  5. Add salt, chopped onion and garlic paste
  6. Saute for another 2 minutes
  7. Add 1/2 cup water and prawns
  8. When prawns are cooked add tamarind pulp and jaggery
  9. Cook for another 5 minutes
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves
  11. Serve hot
