1/2 kg prawns, shelled and cleaned
3 onions, chopped finely
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp tamarind pulp
1 tbsp jaggery
1 tsp garlic paste
3 tbsp oil
Salt as per taste
2 tbsp chopped coriander leavesRoast and Make powder of:
2 cloves
4 peppercorns
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp cumin seeds
4 dried red chilli
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan
- Add sliced onion
- Fry till brown
- Add powder and saute for 2-3 minutes
- Add salt, chopped onion and garlic paste
- Saute for another 2 minutes
- Add 1/2 cup water and prawns
- When prawns are cooked add tamarind pulp and jaggery
- Cook for another 5 minutes
- Garnish with coriander leaves
- Serve hot
