Ingredients

  • 1 kg. dates, pitted
  • 1 kg. plain flour
  • 500 gms. Butter or Ghee
  • 100 gms. each, chopped walnuts, slivered Almonds and cashews and pinenuts
  • 20 gms. Cardamom powder
  • 20 gms. Ginger powder
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 strawberries

How to Make Al Batith

  • Heat butter or ghee in a large saucepan and sauté flour on low heat till brown, approximately 20 mins.
  • Add dates and ginger and cardamom powders.
  • Mix well and take it off the heat.
  • Let it cool, then add all the nuts.
  • Refrigerate till cold.
  • Garnish with orange and strawberries and serve.
