  • Unsalted Butter - 4 tbsp
  • Ground Almonds - 1 cup
  • Single (light) Cream - 2/3 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Almonds (chopped) - 8
  • Pistachio nuts (chopped) - 10
  • How to Make Almond and Pistachio Dessert:

    1. Place the butter in a medium-sized saucepan, preferably non-stick.
    2. Melt the butter, stirring well.
    3. Gradually add the ground almonds, cream and sugar to the melted butter, stirring to combine.
    4. Reduce the heat and stir the mixture constantly for 10-12 minutes, scraping the bottom of the pan.
    5. Increase the heat until the mixture turns a little darker in colour.
    6. Transfer the almond mixture to a shallow serving dish and smooth the top of it.
    7. Decorate the top of the dessert with chopped almonds and pistachios.
    8. Leave the dessert to set for about 1 hour, then cut into diamond shapes or with variety of shaped pastry cutters of your choice.
    9. Serve cold.
