Ingredients

  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 2 - Bay Leaves
  • 1 stick - Cinnamon
  • 4 - Cloves
  • 2 - potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
  • 10 pieces - cauliflower, cut into chunky florets
  • 1.5 cups - basmati Rice
  • 1/2 tsp - dry Ginger powder
  • 2 pinches - Asafoetida
  • 3/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 2 cups - water
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • How to Make Aloo Gobi Ki Tehari (UP Style Vegetable Pulao):

    1. Heat oil in a cooker for about 3 minutes. Add bay leaves, cinnamon and cloves to it. Stir it for a few seconds.
    2. Add potatoes and cauliflower to it. Stir fry for about 2 minutes.
    3. Add all the other ingredients except water and garam masala powder. Stir fry for about 3 minutes. Add water and stir.
    4. Close the cooker. Bring it to full pressure on high heat. Reduce the heat and cook for 3 minutes.
    5. Remove cooker from heat. Allow it to cool naturally for 10 minutes.
    6. Open cooker. Place tehari on serving dish. Sprinkle garam masala powder on it and serve it hot with curd.
