  • 2 - large Potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds, dry roasted
  • One - Green Chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 small cup - Variety Onions (sambar Onions)
  • A pinch of Red Chilli powder
  • Black salt to taste
  • Few springs of cilantro, finely chopped
  • Sev for garnishing (optional)
  • 1 cup yogurt

How to Make Aloo Jeera Raita

  • Cube the boiled potatoes into bite-sized pieces and keep them in a bowl.
  • Dry roast the cumin seeds in a pan.
  • Finely chop the small variety of onions or sambar onions.
  • Add the finely chopped onions, green chilly, roasted cumin seeds to the potatoes
  • Add red chilli powder, black salt and yogurt and give it all a good toss in the bowl.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander/cilantro leaves and sev.
  • Tastes best with peas pulao or any flavored rice. Note: you may use regular onions, but the small variety of onions gives it a distinct flavor and crunch.
