  • 1 cup - fresh green peas
  • 1 - medium sized ,boiled potato cut into cubes
  • 1/4 tsp - asafoetida
  • 1 cup - water
  • 1/2 cup - dahi
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • Chilli powder to taste
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp - cooking oil

How to Make Aloo Matar in Dahi

  • Heat the cooking oil in a kadai and add cumin seeds.
  • Once the cumin seeds are fried, add asafoetida, coriander powder, chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  • Saute for a minute.
  • Add water, fresh peas and salt to taste.
  • When the peas are cooked, add cubed potato and bring to a boil.
  • Do not allow the mixture to get thick.
  • Add a little more water if required.
  • Take off the flame and add the dahi and stir.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
