  • 175g - white cooking fat
  • 50g - butter
  • 375g - icing sugar
  • 50g - evaporated milk
  • 2 pinches - salt
  • 3 drops - vanilla essence

How to Make American Butter Cream

  • Sift half the icing sugar and salt. Mix butter and fat, beat till smooth.
  • Mix in sifted sugar, beat till smooth.
  • Sift remaining sugar, mix with milk powder.
  • Add to mixture, with essence.
  • Mix again, but do not overbeat.
  • To stiffen further mix in some corn flour. To make it softer, mix in a few drops of milk.
  • Use as required.
