Ingredients

  • 350 gms - mava or khoya
  • 500 gms - Sugar or less
  • 125 gms - fine semolina
  • 1/2 tsp - Saffron
  • 140 gms - Ghee
  • 1 Egg white
  • beaten, Ghee for frying
  • few Almonds
  • How to Make Amritphal:

    1. Make a light syrup of sugar and water.
    2. Heat and pound part of the saffron, blanche and shred a few almonds and add these to the syrup and keep warm.
    3. Beat the egg white slightly and grind the almonds to a fine paste.
    4. Beat the semolina and ghee, add all the other ingredients and blend into a smooth mixture.
    5. Form into almond shapes pieces, deep fry them on a slow fire to a golden brown, drain and immerse them in the syrup.
