  • 350 gms - mava or khoya
  • 500 gms - sugar or less
  • 125 gms - fine semolina
  • 1/2 tsp - saffron
  • 140 gms - ghee
  • 1 egg white
  • beaten, ghee for frying
  • few almonds

How to Make Amritphal

  • Make a light syrup of sugar and water.
  • Heat and pound part of the saffron, blanche and shred a few almonds and add these to the syrup and keep warm.
  • Beat the egg white slightly and grind the almonds to a fine paste.
  • Beat the semolina and ghee, add all the other ingredients and blend into a smooth mixture.
  • Form into almond shapes pieces, deep fry them on a slow fire to a golden brown, drain and immerse them in the syrup.
