  • For marinating:
  • 1 lb - boneless salmon fillet, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup - malt Vinegar/any ordinary Vinegar
  • Oil for deep frying
  • For batter:
  • 3/4 cup - gram flour
  • 1/4 cup - yogurt
  • 3 tbsp - juice of Ginger
  • 1 - Egg
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1.5 tsp - tandoori Chicken BBQ masala/garam masala
  • 1 tsp - carom seeds
  • Juice from half a Lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chat masala
  • How to Make Amritsari fish with salmon:

    1. Marinade the fish pieces with malt vinegar.
    2. Keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
    3. Add all the ingredients for batter in a big bowl. Mix well.
    4. Slide in the fish pieces in the batter.
    5. Stir to coat the fish pieces well in the batter. Let it stand for another 5 to 7 minutes.
    6. In the meantime, heat oil for deep frying.
    7. Slide in the fish pieces in batches, not too much at a time.
    8. Fry the fish pieces till it turns a bright golden brown colour on both the sides.
    9. Sprinkle chat masala on top and serve with onion salad and ketchup or green chutney.
