Ingredients

  • 4 - potatoes, peeled and chopped into quarters
  • 2 - slit green chillies
  • 2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - crushed garlic
  • 2 - big onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp - coconut paste or 1 cup coconut milk
  • salt to taste

How to Make Anglo-Burmese Piajo Soup

  • Boil the potatoes and all the ingredients with 5 cups of water in a large vessel on high heat for about 15 minutes.
  • Lower the heat and simmer for at least one hour till the potatoes are very soft and the soup is nice and thick.
  • Garnish with chopped mint leaves and serve hot with fried bread or toast.
