Ingredients

  • 1 cup - raw Rice (wash and keep aside)
  • 1/4 cup - masoor dal or moong dal (wash and keep aside)
  • 3 - Cardamoms
  • 3 - Cloves
  • 2 - small sticks of Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - oil or Ghee
  • 3 tbsp - chopped Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Mint leaves
  • How to Make Anglo-Indian Pish-Pash:

    1. Heat oil / ghee in a vessel and fry the whole spices for 2 minutes.
    2. Add the ginger garlic paste and chilli powder and saute for a few minutes.
    3. Add the washed raw rice and dal and stir-fry for a few minutes.
    4. Now add the coriander leaves, mint, salt and 3 cups of water and cook till the rice and dal are soft.
    5. Serve with omelette and pickle.
