  • 1 - Raw banana (preferably the long and thick ones)
  • 2 to 3 tsp - salt
  • 1/4 cup - water
  • Oil for deep frying (coconut oil, preferably)
  • How to Make Banana Chips:

    1. Wash and peel the raw banana deep so that the white body shows.
    2. Slice the banana into very thin circular slices with a slicer.
    3. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
    4. Dissolve salt in some water and keep aside.
    5. Drop a handful of banana slices into the hot oil.
    6. Pour a tsp or two of salt water into the oil. The oil will sizzle a little, therefore, maintain a distance.
    7. Keep sauteeing continuously to prevent the slices from sticking and cook well.
    8. When the chips turn golden-yellow in colour, remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
    9. Cool completely and store in airtight containers.
    10. For seasoning, you could add some more salt and some pepper powder.
