Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp - cocoa
  • 1 tbsp - superfine sugar
  • 5 tbsp - low fat milk
  • 3 - large bananas (over-ripe ones work well)
  • 1 cup - brown sugar
  • 1 tsp - vanilla extract
  • 5 - egg whites
  • 3/4 cup - self-rising flour
  • 2/3 cup - oat bran
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

How to Make Banana Chocolate Brownies

  • Line an 8-inch square cake pan with parchment paper. Cut out two thick strips and place them cross-wise so that it is easy to remove the brownie later.
  • Blend the cocoa and superfine sugar with the milk.
  • Beat the egg whites lightly and then add it to the cocoa mixture.
  • Mash the bananas well.
  • Add the banana, brown sugar and vanilla extract.
  • Sift the flour over the mixture.
  • Fold in the oat bran.
  • Pour it into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes in a preheated 350 Fahrenheit oven, until firm.
  • Cool in the pan for about 10 mins and then cut into squares.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy.
