Ingredients

  • 2-medium sized Potatoes boiled, peeled and cubed
  • 1 -lemon sized Tamarind ball (soaked in warm water for 10-15 min and take juice)
  • 2 -medium sized Onions chopped finely
  • 3-4 tsp- chilli powder
  • 1 tsp -mustard
  • A few Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp- oil
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

How to Make Batata Song

  • Heat oil in a pan & season with mustard & curry leaves.
  • When mustard starts to splutter, add chopped onions & fry till golden brown.
  • When it's done, add chilli powder, fry till the aroma of chilli powder is released.
  • Now add juice of tamarind & a little water.
  • When this mix starts to boil, add cubed potatoes & salt.
  • Let the gravy boil nicely.
  • Take off heat and sprinkle some coriander leaves. Enjoy with idli, dosa, roti.
