Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Beaten Rice (poha) (roasted on a tawa)
  • 1 gm - Coconut tender
  • 400 gms - Jaggery
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 6 gms - plantains (yellow ripe)
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • How to Make Beaten Rice - Coconut and Jaggery:

    1. Clean and roast the beaten rice on a skillet.
    2. Continue stirring the same on the tawa, till it swells.
    3. Scrape the kernel of the tender coconut.
    4. Grate and scrape the jaggery and mix with it with the scrapings of the tender coconut.
    5. Mix all well with two spoons of ghee.
    6. Cut the ripe plantains into small bits and add them to the mixed beaten rice and garnish it with the cardamom powder.
