Ingredients

  • 1 coconut, finely grated
  • 2 tbsp. Maida
  • 1 tbsp. seeds of big black Cardamoms
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • Silver foil
  • ½ tsp. essence of rose

How to Make Bengali Pantua

  • Mix flour in the coconut.
  • Form the mixture into crescents around 2 seeds of cardamoms.
  • Put 1 cup water in sugar and prepare a syrup of one thread consistency.
  • Remove from fire and set aside.
  • Deep fry the crescents over a slow fire to a golden colour.
  • Drain, cover with foil and toss into the syrup.
  • Sprinkle essence on top.
