Ingredients

  • 1 cup - black-eyed peas
  • 3 - Green chilli
  • 2 - onions, chopped finely
  • 2 - Tomatoes chopped
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 2 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves.
  • How to Make Black-Eyed Peas With Onions And Tomatoes:

    1. Soak the black-eyed peas in water over night.
    2. Boil the black-eyed peas with a little salt in sufficient water till soft.
    3. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onions and green chilli for a little while.
    4. Add the tomatoes, garlic paste, ginger paste, chilli power, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, a little of the chopped coriander leaves and salt and stir fry till the oil separates from the mixture.
    5. Add the boiled black-eyed beans and 1 cup water and simmer on low heat till the gravy thickens.
    6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
    7. Serve.
