Bombay toast is a popular snack recipe from Mumbai and is mostly savored as a street food across the city. Bombay toast is known for its distinguished taste and are cooked in Indian style.

The bread is toasted and is shallow fried with a mixture of eggs, milk and sugar. Butter is used for shallow frying the bread dipped into the batter mix. It is fried until both sides are golden brown in color and served with cream.


  • Bread - 5 slices
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Egg - 1
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • How to Make Bombay Toast:

    1. Beat together egg, milk and sugar to a batter.
    2. Heat a pan and spread a little butter.
    3. Dip a slice of bread in the batter and fry till golden brown, turning it once.
