Ingredients

  • 3 cups - fresh Curd
  • 1 cup - Milk
  • 3/4 cup - plain boondhi
  • 1/2 tsp - crushed Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp - ground Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp - black salt, powdered
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tbsp - coriander, chopped finely
  • How to Make Boondhi Raita:

    1. Crush mustard seeds coarsely with a stone or pestle.
    2. Heat 4-5 cups water till it comes to a boil.
    3. Add boondhi, stand for 2-3 minutes, drain.
    4. Run under tap water in a colander, to cool the boondhi.
    5. Press out excess water.
    6. Beat the curd and milk together till smooth.
    7. Add all other ingredients, including boondhi.
    8. Mix well, chill for 1-2 hours.
    9. Serve chilled.
