Ingredients

  • 12 slices - bread
  • 1 cup - corn
  • 1 cup - cold milk
  • 1 cup - thick white sauce
  • 1/2 cup - grated cheese
  • 1 small capsicum
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 tsp - vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • For Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup - tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup - cream
  • 1 tbsp - flour
  • 2 tsp - sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Bread and Corn Supreme

  • Cut the bread slices into rounds.
  • Boil the corn. Chop the capsicum, spring onion.
  • Mix the white sauce, corn, capsicum, spring onion, salt, pepper and vinegar. Divide into 6 portions.
  • Dip each round of bread in milk. Place one portion of the filling on one bread; cover with another.
  • Prepare 6 sandwiches this way.
  • Grease a baking dish and place the sandwiches.
  • Pour over the remaining milk.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the sauce.
  • Cook over a medium heat till thick.
  • Spread the sauce over the bread.
  • Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degree C for 25 to 30 minutes.
