Ingredients

  • 1 loaf - Bread
  • 1 liter - Milk
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 3 tbsp - rose water
  • A few strands Saffron
  • 8 - 9 pieces - cashew nuts, chopped
  • 50 g - Raisins
  • 8 - 9 pieces - almonds, chopped
  • 3/4 cup - Ghee

How to Make Bread Halwa

  • In a thick-bottomed pan, boil the milk till it is slightly thick.
  • Crumble the bread and mix it with milk, stirring continuously.
  • Add sugar, ghee, saffron and rose water and keep stirring continuously till the whole mixture turns thick, slightly brown and comes out smoothly from the pan.
  • Add the chopped nuts and raisins and remove from the flame.
  • Serve hot or cold.
