How to Make Brinjal Gotsu

  • Heat oil in a kadai and splutter the mustard and saute the urad dal, toor dal, dry chillies and turmeric. Now add the onion to this and saute until pink
  • Pour the tamarind extract in the kadai and add the curry leaves, salt, sambar powder and let it boil for 5-6 mins
  • In the meanwhile, heat the brinjal in a pan and peel the skin off and mash it with a spatula
  • Add this to the boiling tamarind and mix well. Boil for 5 mins
  • Serve with rice
