Ingredients

  • 500 g - Butter beans/lima beans soaked
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 - tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Butter Beans Side Dish

  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds
  • When they splutter, add chopped onions and saute till light brown
  • Now add the beans and all the other ingredients and mix well
  • Add 1 cup of water and simmer on low heat till the beans are tender and the gravy thickens
  • Serve hot
