Ingredients

  • 3 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp - active Dry yeast
  • 2 to 3 cups - warm water
  • 1/2 tsp - Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Kalonji
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • Few sprigs cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Butter Naan

  • Mix yeast, water and sugar in a bowl and whisk until the yeast has dissolved. Set aside for 5 mins.
  • Sift the flour and add the rest of the ingredients except the butter and mix well.
  • Make a well in the centre and add the yeast mixture.
  • Set aside in a bowl and cover it with a damp kitchen towel and keep it in a warm place until it doubles in size for approximately 2 to 3 hours.
  • Now knead the dough for 5 mins and divide into small balls.
  • Roll them out.
  • Shape it into an oblong.
  • Place the Naan on a baking sheet, top with some butter and put it inside the broiler.
  • The minute dark spots start appearing on the top, flip to the other side and repeat the procedure.
  • Serve with the butter.
