Ingredients

  • 3 cups - all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp - active Dry yeast
  • 2 to 3 cups - warm water
  • 1/2 tsp - Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Kalonji
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • Few sprigs cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Butter Naan:

    1. Mix yeast, water and sugar in a bowl and whisk until the yeast has dissolved. Set aside for 5 mins.
    2. Sift the flour and add the rest of the ingredients except the butter and mix well.
    3. Make a well in the centre and add the yeast mixture.
    4. Set aside in a bowl and cover it with a damp kitchen towel and keep it in a warm place until it doubles in size for approximately 2 to 3 hours.
    5. Now knead the dough for 5 mins and divide into small balls.
    6. Roll them out.
    7. Shape it into an oblong.
    8. Place the Naan on a baking sheet, top with some butter and put it inside the broiler.
    9. The minute dark spots start appearing on the top, flip to the other side and repeat the procedure.
    10. Serve with the butter.
