Ingredients

  • 1 - whole Cabbage (chopped and cleaned well)
  • 1/2 cup - Tamarind (cleaned well)
  • 3-4 Green chillies or 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1 cup - water
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 3-4 tsp - oil
  • For seasoning (optional, but preferred):
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch - Asafoetida
  • How to Make Cabbage and Tamarind Chutney:

    1. Grind all the ingredients together well.
    2. If using seasoning, splutter everything in hot oil and then pour over the ground chutney.
    3. Serve fresh.
