Cut cabbage, wash Bengal gram dal and put both together in a pressure cooker along with chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and asafoetida.
Stir well and pour required water.
Boil for 20 minutes, then add grated coconut and mix well.
