  • 1/4 kg -finely chopped, Cabbage
  • 1/4 cup- Channa dal
  • 1/4 cup- moong dal (yellow)
  • 1/4 cup- Tuvar dal
  • 1/2 cup- Rice
  • 1/2 cup -grated Coconut
  • Tamarind paste
  • 8- whole Red Chillies
  • 1 spoon- coriander/cumin seeds
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • Salt
  • How to Make Cabbage Sanapolo:

    1. Soak all the dals and rice for 3 hours.
    2. Grind coconut, red chillies, tamarind, coriander seeds and cumin seeds into a fine paste.
    3. Add a little water while grinding.
    4. Add the soaked dals into this paste and grind again into a coarse paste.
    5. Consistency of the ground paste must be thicker than bhajiya paste.
    6. Transfer the coarse ground paste to a big bowl.
    7. Add finely chopped cabbage to this and add salt. Mix well.
    8. In a frying pan add 1 tsp of oil.
    9. Spread the batter in the shape of a thick small dosa. Pour little oil on dosa and close with a lid
    10. Fry both sides till light brown. Serve with dal-rice or as a snack with pickle.
