  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 450 ml - Milk
  • 3 slices - bread
  • 1/2 cup - Butter
  • 3-4 tbsp - chopped nuts (almond, cashewnut)
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 tsp - vanilla
  • How to Make Caramel Bread Pudding:

    1. Place the sugar in a thick bottomed pan. Add 1/2 cup of water.
    2. Place on moderate heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
    3. Increase the heat and cook steadily (do not stir) until the syrup turns golden brown. Remove from the flame.
    4. Pour warm milk and stir until the caramel is uniformly mixed with the milk. Let the mixture cool.
    5. Remove crust from the bread slices and cut into triangles.
    6. Melt the butter.
    7. Dip the bread slices in butter and arrange in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle nuts on top.
    8. Beat the eggs with vanilla and mix with caramel milk.
    9. Pour on top of the bread pieces. Let it soak for an hour.
    10. Bake in a moderate oven (180 degrees C) until set (about 45 minutes). Serve warm or cold.
