  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Butter or stick margarine
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 2 medium carrots, cut into 1 inch julienne strips
  • 1 cup uncooked long grain Rice
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 1 tbsp Chicken bouillon granules
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp dried Thyme
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • How to Make Carrot Raisin Pulao:

    1. In a saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender.
    2. Stir in the water, rice, carrots, rice, raisins, bouillon, curry powder, salt and thyme.
    3. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender.
    4. Sprinkle with almonds before serving.
