Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup - onion, finely chopped
  • 1 - cauliflower, large
  • 1/2 cup - grated coconut
  • 6 - green chillies
  • 2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 tbsp - oil

How to Make Cauliflower in Coconut Masala

  • Cut cauliflower into medium size pieces.
  • Grind coconut with green chillies, cumin and turmeric to a coarse paste.
  • Heat the oil in a non stick kadai and fry the onion till dark brown.
  • Add the ground paste and fry till it is brown.
  • Add chilli and garam masala powders, fry for 1 minute.
  • Add cauliflower and salt.
  • Cook stirring on low heat often till the cauliflower is cooked.
  • Do not add water.
  • Serve hot with chapatti/ steamed rice and dal.
