Ingredients

  • Kala Chana - 1 cup (soaked 6-7 hrs)
  • Chana dal - 1/4 cup (soaked)
  • Onions - 3 (medium sized and sliced)
  • Ginger - a small piece (chopped)
  • Garlic - 8 to 10 flakes
  • 2 to 3 - Red Chillies (broken into pieces)
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lime juice (according to taste)
  • Green chillies - 2 (chopped finely) )
  • 1 sprig - Coriander leaves
  • Oil
  • How to Make Chane Ke Kebab:

    1. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add sliced onions. Fry till they turn light pink.
    2. Add chopped ginger, garlic, garam masala, and dry red chillies; fry.
    3. Now add the kala chana and chana dal.
    4. Add coriander powder and fry on medium heat till the oil separates.
    5. Add salt and a little water (just enough for cooking) and pressure cook for about 10 minutes.
    6. Now grind the cooked chana mixture to a coarse paste.
    7. Add chopped onion, lime juice, chopped coriander leaves, and green chillies to the ground paste.
    8. Make round kebabs of the mixture and shallow fry in a nonstick pan.
    9. Serve hot with green chutney.
