Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Channa dal
  • 1 - small Tomato
  • 1 - small onion, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - as per requirement
  • How to Make Channa Dal Uttappam:

    1. Soak Channa Dal for 4-5 hours.
    2. Grind it to an almost smooth paste.
    3. Add salt to this batter.
    4. Heat the tava (griddle) and then place 1-2 tsp of oil.
    5. Spread the batter evenly on the tava in a round shape.
    6. Sprinkle these finely chopped tomatoes and onion on it.
    7. After a while, turn the uttappam and cook the other side of it, adding some oil as per requirement.
    8. Keeping cooking both the sides, until done.
    9. Serve with Tomato Ketchup or Coriander chutney.
