  • 1 cup - Channa dal
  • 1 - small Tomato
  • 1 - small onion, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - as per requirement

How to Make

  • Soak Channa Dal for 4-5 hours.
  • Grind it to an almost smooth paste.
  • Add salt to this batter.
  • Heat the tava (griddle) and then place 1-2 tsp of oil.
  • Spread the batter evenly on the tava in a round shape.
  • Sprinkle these finely chopped tomatoes and onion on it.
  • After a while, turn the uttappam and cook the other side of it, adding some oil as per requirement.
  • Keeping cooking both the sides, until done.
  • Serve with Tomato Ketchup or Coriander chutney.
